Hello! Welcome
I am an interdisciplinary artist, community arts organizer, and Iyengar Yoga teacher based in Vancouver, BC, the unceded traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations. I am an alumna of Goddard College, Vermont (MFA, Interdisciplinary Arts) and the Emily Carr University of Art & Design (BFA, Media Arts.) My work has been exhibited across Canada, in the Netherlands, Sweden and Hong Kong, and is in public collections at the University of Alberta, UBC, SFU and the ACE Hotel in Portland and New York.
My art practice is rooted in listening. To this body, to the land and water, to each breath, to others' bodies and breathing.... I give what I hear/feel form in ways that often look like; drawing & painting, artist’s books, video and social practice projects. I make maps of what is arising as I experience the present moment. Giving form to these moments is a way to navigate the space in between you and I (yes you, whoever you are,) and invite us to remember our interconnectedness.
Thank you for visiting.
And… why Iyengar Yoga? The Iyengar Yoga lineage is anti-oppressive and liberatory pedagogy. Iyengar teacher training requires a minimum of 3+ years dedicated study prior to certification, and about 4 years study prerequisite. I am honoured to share this transformative practice with learners in many different communities: Galleries & museums, grassroots organizations, shelters and schools. I teach online (right here!) at The Songhees Wellness Centre (Songhees Nation,) and The University of Victoria.
